Discover small islands, hidden monasteries, and wild beaches. Many tours leave from Virpazar and can be booked for 1–4 hours.

  • Hiking & Walking Trails
Explore the hills and forests around the lake. Trails range from easy walks to longer hikes with panoramic views.

  • Kayaking or Stand-Up Paddle
Rent a kayak or SUP board to explore the lake on your own – a quiet and peaceful way to enjoy nature.

  • Birdwatching
Skadar Lake is a paradise for bird lovers, especially in spring and autumn. Spot pelicans, herons, and many other rare species.

  • Cycling
Bring your own bike or rent one locally to ride through vineyards, olive groves, and peaceful villages.

Get a taste of Montenegrin history and hospitality:

  • Virpazar Village (5 min drive)
A small village with cafés, restaurants, and a local market. Great for trying grilled fish or a glass of rakija (fruit brandy).

  • Grmozhur Fortress (3 km)
Known as “Montenegro’s Alcatraz,” this small prison-island has a unique story and can be reached by boat.

  • Besac Castle (10 min drive)
A well-preserved Ottoman fortress with views over the lake – perfect for photos and sunset.

  • Monasteries & Churches
Take a boat to see 14th-century monasteries on the islands, still active today.

  • Local Events & Festivals
In summer, Virpazar and nearby towns host music nights, folklore festivals, and food events.

Slow down and enjoy the peaceful surroundings:

  • Lakeside Picnics
Pack a lunch and enjoy it by the water. Some spots are just a short walk or drive away.

  • Garden & Terrace at the Villa
Read a book, sip local wine, or simply enjoy the sound of birds and the view of the lake and mountains.

  • Swimming in the Lake
In summer, Skadar Lake offers many natural swimming spots, perfect for cooling off.

  • Wine & Olive Oil Tastings
Visit small family-run wineries around Virpazar to try local red wines (like Vranac) and homemade olive oil.
